MEDICAL TREATMENTS
Chemical peels
Chemical peels rejuvenate the skin, improve skin texture and tone, improve fine lines and wrinkles, as well as reverse sun damage and reduce pigmentation.
Peels are also excellent in treating acne, thin skin and sun-spots on hands.
Superficial peels are done by the skincare therapists, while Dr Le Grange does medium depth or deep peels.
The peel stimulates the active, deeper layers of the skin, causing an increase in collagen and elastin production, which improves skin tone and elasticity, and also reduces and evens out pigmentation.
It also exfoliates the superficial skin, creating a fresh and glowing look.
- fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth
- wrinkles caused by sun damage and aging
- mild/very shallow scars
- certain types of acne
- age spots, freckles and dark patches
Immediately after the peel the skin is very red. Over the next 2-3 days it tightens and darkens and peeling occurs within 3 to 4 days. It is a deep, visible peel, revealing newly exposed, soft, beautiful skin.
The results are dramatic. Collagen and elastin will continue to form over the next 3 months, firming the skin.
This involves 4-6 peels (using TCA or Glycolic) where the peeling agent used each time is slightly stronger. The peels are done every 2 weeks.
